50% of the world’s cork is produced in Portugal. Interesting I know, well that was just the tip of the iceberg!
I had never been to Portugal, so when I had the chance to explore last weekend I was extremely unassuming. I didn’t know what to expect, especially in regards to cork production.
Lisbon is a beautiful city, in a kind of vintage sense. The ‘7 hills’ all had something different within them, yet everywhere you went still had the portugal stamp – wether that be tiles, graffiti or the custard tarts. I was taken back at how walkable the city was, especially barrio alto and alfama. These 2 area’s were my highlight, each cobbled street and tramline leading to something else interesting, photo opportunities seem to spill out of every turn.
